VanDusen Gardens Discovery Gallery, from August 6th to Sept. 3rd 2014

Curated by Celia Duthie and Nicholas Hunt of the Duthie Gallery on Salt Spring Island, Touch Wood is a landmark exhibition by prominent B.C. artists. As a part of this extensive exhibition, printmaker Richard Tetrault will show a series of his recent woodcuts and unique prints. Tetrault’s work can be seen during regular hours at VanDusen’s Discovery Gallery.

This exhibition profiles my most recent large-scaled woodcuts, reflecting both the local urban landscape as well as imagery from recent travels. The prints explore a range of relief print methods, many incorporating a multitude of blocks, or matrix, overlaid in transparencies to suggest time, transience and metaphorical passages.
